GLOBAL LIVER INSTITUTE
About the Program
Since 2017, Global Liver Institute’s Advanced Advocacy Academy (A3) has connected liver patients, caregivers, and family members with the information, skills, and opportunities they need to effectively advocate for liver health.
There are more than 375 alumni of GLI’s Advanced Advocacy Academy who fight for liver health in 39+ states and 17 countries. These 5 key pillars of A3 include:
Liver Literacy
Media & Storytelling

Navigating HealthCare & Development
Understanding Policy & Meeting with Policymakers
A3 alumni go on to effect change in a variety of ways, such as:
- Advocating on state and federal Capitol Hills, with bills becoming laws
- Speaking in Externally Led-Patient Focused Drug Development (EL-PFDD) Meetings
- Forming and leading non-profit organizations
- Launching support groups
- Joining GLI’s Liver Action Network (LAN)
